Let’s Set up the Entryway
Welcome to the extended version of my weekly newsletter, House Call (and if you aren’t subscribed, what are you waiting for?). This is where I spend some time pondering a theme, answering a question, and helping you shop smarter—or at least find some new inspiration. Reach out if you ever need recommendations. I’m happy to search the internet for the most specific furnishings, decor, and knickknacks. Todays theme: organizing your entryway!
I repeatedly come back to thoughts on the entryway. What a pivotal, highly trafficked part of the home. It’s the first place you step into when you get home and the last place you’re in when you head out the door. It’s typically a zone of readiness and storage, a place for important things and final touches. Personally, I find it to be an easy place to get disorganized. Piles of shoes become impassable mountains and old receipts resemble tumbleweeds. But what is the first month of the year if not a promise of fresh starts. So, let’s organize your entryway!
If you’re already perfect, with your keys hung neatly and your masks arranged on hooks, then I’ll try to at least introduce you to an organizational alternative you could swap for a dose of fun. This is a great chance to think about the mood you want to set every time you walk in the front door.
