Reese Witherspoon Lists English Nation-Impressed L.A. Residence For $25 Million After Renovation

It’s been just two years since Reese Witherspoon and her husband Jim Toth settled into a sprawling private estate in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Brentwood. Now, according to Dirt, the Big Little Lies star and the talent agent have flipped that space back onto the market for $25 million, a substantial hike from the $15.9 million they paid in 2020.

The couple (who share an eight-year-old son; Witherspoon also has two children from her previous marriage) have spent those two years carefully renovating the seven bedroom, 10 bathroom English Country-style home. The changes are noticeable in the entryway alone, where custom steel and brass handrails have replaced the simpler white banisters that were in place prior to their ownership. Marble checkerboard flooring was laid in the foyer and select rooms too, adding a playful yet sophisticated touch to the space, while the exposed wooden beams that topped the double height foyer (and felt incongruous with the rest of the home) were removed. Though the owner’s wing hasn’t been photographed for the listing, it’s said to contain separate bathrooms and boutique-style closets.

Unsurprisingly for an individual who works as much as Witherspoon, the home office is a focal point of the 10,000 square foot property. Custom millwork and wallpaper-lined built in bookshelves add dimension to the room that has blue walls, ceilings, and shelves. Wallpaper abounds throughout the property, with neutral toned patterns in the dining room and a spacious downstairs bathroom. It doesn’t appear that much has changed on the 3 acre estate’s exterior, with a spacious pool and spa still intact, along with an adjacent barbecue and bar station.
