ascendance flight technologies reveals ATEA

sustainable air travel is on the rise, just check out the all-electric marcobat, 9-passenger commuter aircraft and rolls royce concepts in 2021 alone. french start-up ascendance flight technologies reveal its step towards sustainable air travel with the hybrid-electric ATEA VTOL aircraft. the design aims to be used for passenger transport, emergency services, logistical tasks or for surveillance flights.

sustainable air travel for 2025

set for production in 2025, the ascendance flight technologies ATEA is the culmination of three years of research and development to decarbonize air travel. a sleek, audacious design distinguishes the 5-seater vertical take-off and landing aircraft. the skyview cabin at the center ensures easy access for the five passengers.

ATEA delivers a range of 250 miles (400 km) whilst cutting carbon emissions by 80%. it is also claimed that noise pollution is reduced four times more than standard. this is all made possible thanks to tailor-made modular hybrid engines and two horizontal propellers. ‘lift + cruise’ configuration with two separate propulsion systems deliver its vertical and horizontal movement – hence the name VTOL. further innovations enable optimized, easy-to-use and agile operations to fulfil its range of use.

we set-up ascendance flight technologies with a very clear vision of what we wanted to achieve: to accelerate transition towards green aviation thanks to hybrid technology. the design of ATEA is the concrete reflection of our values, our experience and of our know-how. the aircraft we are presenting to you today is the result of huge efforts by our R&D department, tests and trials on four prototypes and a great deal of thought on costs and the ease of flying such an aircraft. its characteristics provide all the performances expected by a sector that the ongoing transition has made more demanding,‘ concludes jean-christophe lambert, co-founder and CEO.
