AD100 talent Jake Arnold cannot be stopped. In recent years, the Los Angeles–based Brit has designed the homes of celebrities like Chrissy Teigen and Katy Perry, cofounded video consultation platform The Expert, and launched collaborations with brands like Crate & Barrel and Lulu and Georgia. So it’s no surprise—yet still extremely impressive—that he just published his first book, Redefining Comfort, and teamed up with Parachute for a second limited edition collection of home essentials, which launches today.
The 11-piece collection is a follow-up to the first iteration of Jake Arnold for Parachute, a wildly popular line that debuted last year. “It was a natural evolution to work with Parachute again and to evolve the bestsellers and the things that people really resonated with and connected to,” Jake shares. “It was a good opportunity to exercise my evolution, too, from not just being all dark and moody, but also having a softer palette.”
While the oversized alpaca boucle throw looks gorgeous on a bed, paired with the botanical lumbar pillow cover, Jake thinks it can serve another purpose, too. “You could wear the boucle throw as a scarf,” he says. “Literally, I would wear it in New York because it’s so cozy and it’s chic. It’s like Lenny Kravitz’s famous scarf.”Laura Mohn
Gentle neutrals like sage, olive, cream, and almond dominate this drop, from the velvet pillow covers to the linen bedding to the botanical bedspread that borrows a beloved print from the first collection. “We had it on the robe and pillows last time and it was really popular, which was surprising because I think Parachute had never done print prior to that,” Jake says. “We’ve introduced it in a new colorway, and we expanded it on a full coverlet so that the bed felt more custom. People are less afraid of prints now.”
Fans will be glad to learn that another one of the bestsellers that Jake revisited is the oversized alpaca boucle throw, which now features a clean, unfringed hem and is available in two new hues. “What’s been so fun about working with products, as opposed to doing spaces, is seeing what works and taking something that feels more classic and timeless and just giving it a refresh,” he says.
Jake also included two wearable items in the collection: the cozy relaxed cardigan and the shearling wool slides. He’s hoping these pieces will transition easily from the sofa to the convenience store. “The jacket cardigan is super cozy, so you can wear it in and out, to go walk with your dog or to get groceries,” he explains. “Especially on a lazy weekend, you just want to stroll out and grab a coffee, and you don’t want to wear real clothes.”
