14-inch-wheel electric ‘moke america’ is fully customizable and entirely made in the US
Introducing electric moke america
In October 2021, Moke International announced it would auction its last petrol-based vehicle as the start of its transition to electric automobiles designed by Michael Young (read more here). Today, Moke America does the same, a 20th-century collectible car reinvented with 21st-century, climate change-friendly electric power, available exclusively in the US. The company follows the footsteps of the British classic and Caribbean icon by devising its own engineering and machinery while still staying true to the beach-buggy design and concept of the vehicle.
Moke America makes its car design bigger, wider, and stronger by manufacturing a whooping 2,300-pound car design to make it sturdier than the old Mokes and raising the wheel from 13 to 14 inches to make it taller. The company also redesigned the windshield to offer a wider-glass viewing and let it stand across farther and higher. It also implemented its in-house painting process to control the quality of pain and also infuse undercarriage rust proofing to prevent corrosion.

Moke america in long trips
The most important highlight of Moke America is making it fully electric. The company notes the electric revolution in Europe and countries like the Netherlands whose mission aims to use and produce entirely electric cars by 2024. For Moke America, it was obvious that their endeavor had to be electric. The company also says that the old Mokes had engines that were very noisy, and with their Moke America, the engines rev silently when users drive. The vehicle can be charged with a 110 outlet and be plugged into any household outlet or electric charging station. Eight hours get a full charge, which can give the riders almost forty miles of drive time.
Moke America says its car is a neighborhood electric vehicle, driven around town to visit friends, the beach, and the supermarket. ‘If you are going to take a six-hour journey, you are not in the right car,’ says the company. Made in the USA production, parts, and components fuel the electric vehicle which includes the glasses, seatbelts, tires, and batteries. In terms of maintenance, Moke America is easy to wash as the whole car can be hosed down, inside and out. The company also offers a Bimini top so riders can be and feel half-outdoors, half-indoors. The look and design appear better than the original since it is longer, wider, and closer to what an American car looks like.

Better for the environment
Moke America is a Low-Speed Vehicle (LSV) with a maximum speed of 25 MPH and is street legal in the US. ‘It is better for the environment. The price point is reasonable. It is what a car should cost,’ says the company whose current pricing is at 21,975 USD. Riders can also build their own electric Mokes by choosing their own colors, seats, type of top and steering wheel, and additional features such as Bluetooth stereo, high-performance charger, all-weather car cover, and tire cover.
The company reminds its clients that they will only be charged a 50% deposit fee on the day of purchase plus a 3% shipping surcharge on base price, delivery charge, and 4% credit card fee. The customization of Moke America takes approximately 160 days, and the balance will be due upon scheduled delivery. Upon the delivery of the Moke, clients will need to pay sales tax and registration in order to register the vehicle.
