Why was architect Zaha Hadid nicknamed the Queen of Curves?

Zaha Hadid nicknamed the Queen of Curves, Zaha Hadid: a name that shines a lot in the field of architecture and has been able to prove itself in the field of engineering that will be dominated by the gender of men for many years.

Zaha Hadid:

an architect born in Iraq on October 31, 1950, died of a heart attack in a hospital in the United States of America on July 3, 2016, in a town called Miami, at the age of 66.

Zaha Hadid took a BA in Mathematics from the American University in Beirut in 1971, then Zaha Hadid completed her studies at the Architectural University in London and graduated from her in 1977 AD, then she worked in this field where she became a famous architect and was working at Harvard University and the University of Illinois in Chicago. She won many awards and medals, including the Medal of Appreciation from the British Kingdom, and won the Royal Gold Medal in 2016, and she won the Pritzker Prize in Architecture in 2004 and was one of the first women to receive it as this award is considered as a Nobel Prize in Engineering.

Zaha Hadid was known in the Western architectural circles and was known as the most powerful engineer in the world, and she was chosen as the fourth most powerful woman in the world in 2010.

Zaha Hadid’s interest in architecture started because of a visit to the Sumerian ruins in southern Iraq. Since that time, Zaha Hadid was influenced by the architectural designs and forms found in this region and was subsequently influenced by the (Oscar Niemeyer) style, as his works gave her an impetus to adopt a special style of architecture.

Zaha committed to the deconstructive architectural trend, as she was concerned with the modern style and style in her architectural designs. And this appeared in her architectural designs, where she appeared in modern, streamlined, innovative and imaginative forms, and Zaha was able to transform all her designs and projects into reality on the ground through 950 projects in 44 countries around the world.

Reasons for Zaha Hadid’s nickname “Curves and Curves”:

Zaha Hadid is nicknamed the Queen of Curves and Curves, and this is due to her work and projects that she carried out on the ground, as she was characterized by all designs in a clear and fluid flow, as the world always remembers this title.

Some of the works of Zaha Hadid Architectural: that were the reason why she was called “Queen of Curves and Streaming Curves” and reached her fame throughout the world.

1- Zaha Hadid created her first business in Germany, where she worked on designing and implementing (Vitra Fire Station), which the entire building was taking as a fire extinguisher and this design showed its use of ribbed constructions.

2- She created (a hall in the form of corridors) in a park in Germany, where this construction was a coffee shop and exhibition hall, and this hall works as an insulating place that allows the use of the sun’s energy in the winter.

3- She established (the Faino Science Center) in Germany, and this center is unique in this field, in addition, that Zaha Hadid created it in a mysterious form that pushes the visitor to curiosity and exploration, as she designed it in the form of a spaceship that landed on Earth Triangles and twisted voids from the bottom of the building, leading to an elegant and attractive connection with the outer spaces of the city, and the jury gave the first prize to Zaha Hadid in the design competition of the Science Center in Germany.

4- She established (Rosenthal Center for Contemporary Arts) in Cincinnati, the United States of America, which is one of the oldest visual arts there, and also established (Innovation Tower) located in the city of Hong Kong.

5- She created (Water Games Center) in London, where it appears from the outside as a large turtle shape flapping its large fins.

6- It also constructed the Sheikh Zayed Bridge in the United Arab Emirates.

This was some of the work that Zaha Hadid designed, and she was called “Queen of Curves”.
