Where Does Prince Harry Live? Unpacking the Places He and Meghan Markle Have Resided

The Sussexes briefly stayed on Vancouver Island before relocating to Los Angeles in March 2020 ahead of the closing of the US and Canada border due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They stayed at Tyler Perry’s Beverly Hills compound before moving into their current residence in Montecito, California, in July of that year—the first foray into home ownership for both Meghan and Harry. Spanning about 18,700 square feet, the Mediterranean-style mansion reportedly cost the pair $14.65 million. The 7.4-acre property boasts nine bedrooms, 16 bathrooms, a detached guesthouse, a teahouse, a tennis court, and a swimming pool.

Over the years, Harry and Meghan have offered the public small glimpses of their life in Santa Barbara county. In March 2021, they showed off their backyard chicken coop during an interview with Oprah Winfrey. That August, the duchess shared a video filmed in a corner of the home with a stone fireplace and a neutral palette. In 2022, Harry shared another peek inside the dwelling, showcasing nature-inspired decor. A few months later, a profile in The Cut revealed that the home’s interior decorating style “evokes a classic Tuscan villa, a Napa vineyard, and a manicured Beverly Hills country club decorated with careful, considered coastal tones for a casual air—the home equivalent of billionaires dressing down in denim,” as journalist Allison P. Davis put it. In 2025, Meghan posted what appeared to be a peek inside the kitchen on her Instagram Story, revealing old-world-style wooden cabinetry, a butcher-block island, blue-and-white patterned tile backsplash, hardwood floors, and a scrolled iron hanging pot rack.

Meghan’s homemaking series on Netflix, With Love, Meghan, is filmed at a separate Montecito mansion rather than the one where the Sussexes actually reside. However, the series still gives viewers a taste of the Duchess’s domestic life. In a season two episode, Meghan revealed the royal treatment that she gives guests who come to stay at the Californian pad. “I think about the two places of a guest’s experience once they’ve gone into their room: What’s at the side of the bed for them? That’s their good morning and good night moment. And what’s in the bathroom for them, so they can have a beautiful soak [and] a nice bath at the end of the night,” she explains on the show, adding that she often gifts her guests with homemade bath salts, custom baskets, and floral arrangements. The latter come from the estate’s gardens, which grow fruits and vegetables in addition to the flowers that Meghan enjoys arranging.
