in an architectural homage to queenstown, new zealand, the waiora lodge acts as a frame of its scenic context. such stunning landscapes always serve to remind visitors how valuable these remaining environments are and how they must be protected. the team notes that the project, by local firm design base architecture, is ‘arguably new zealand’s finest home and is being sustainably developed overlooking lake wakatipu and cecil peak.’
the dwelling will be nestled across 13,590 square meters of land, and receives uninterrupted views. inside, four large bedroom suites all host walk-in wardrobes, expansive ensuites, and private decks. because the site is located within a gated community, the home is private with no road noise nor other residences within view.

wellness at waiora lodge
the waiora lodge (see more here) in new zealand has been designed around the pillars of holistic wellness. waiora is maori for health, soundness, and healing waters. special consideration has been put into connection with the environment and wellness enhancements within the home such as an infrared sauna, cold plunge pool, air and water purification, circadian rhythm lighting, gym and, treatment room.
with architecture by design base architecture (see more here), the property is currently being developed by B group (see more here), which spearheaded the waimarino lodge only ten minutes away (read designboom’s coverage here). the team notes that waimarino lodge and its facilities are also available to guests and owners of waiora lodge.
