This Hotel Includes A Series Of Treehouse Inspired Elevated Cabins
August 6, 2023
Studio Saxe has shared photos of the Suitree Experience Hotel they completed in Sardinal, Costa Rica, that offers a distinct canopy-based guest experience.
Inspired by childhood treehouses, the designers created tree-inspired pods floating over the landscape, together with a central gathering area and swimming pools.
The elevated hotel rooms are created with a strong metal framework covered with natural wood. This design integrates stability with harmony, crafting a sustainable experience that respects and enhances its surrounding environment.
The gently undulating edges of the pods echo the organic forms of the forest, reflecting a natural symbiosis.
These structures hover above the landscape, allowing nature to flow uninterrupted beneath them and around them.
Underneath, a central staircase ties the floating pods to the earth.
The swimming pools each have a round shape and are tiered allowing the water to flow between them.
There’s also the Mirador Lookout with spiral stairs that lead up to a platform that’s surrounded by netting, creating a place to relax and enjoy the view.
Here are a few architectural drawings, including one showing the winding paths that connect the various areas of the hotel.
There’s also a video you can watch about the project.
