the ai generated homes express abstracted curving forms
Mathias Juul Frost presents a series of charming AI-generated dwellings which question the mundane nature of modern residential architecture. Titled ‘A house you say good morning to and hug when you come home’, the project is a comment on the somewhat coldness of modern-day homes. Rejecting the rigidity of these typically brick, rectangular masses with repetitive square windows, Frost’s designs envision dynamic abstracted homes composed of sculptural organic forms.

mathias Juul Frost challenges monotonous architecture
Each home in Mathias Juul Frost’s AI-generated series expresses individuality, much like its inhabitants. The designer notes how with today’s typical residential architecture, ‘we sit in the same boxes and probably thing more of less the same thoughts and come to more or less the same conclusions’. Typical housing communities often comprise repetitive brick facades and rectangular forms, lacking any distinctive qualities. The designer suggests that this monotony extends to the inhabitants of the structures, limiting their thoughts and suppressing their individuality.
Breaking this mundane practice, ‘A house you say good morning to and hug when you come home’ instead envisions a more expressive architecture. Each of the homes from the series are unique and encourage individuality, inspired by an abstracted modernist aesthetic. Mathias Juul Frost utilizes AI to present a conceptual architecture that opposes the typical box-like structures with bold, organic, undulating curves. The isolated homes depict distinct asymmetrical forms, with a natural wood-like façade and a warm, inviting primary color palette. ‘The project illustrates, through the small, curiously charming ‘dwellings’, what it would be like again, to want to say good morning to a house and hug it when you get home’, notes Frost.
