‘tons fitness table’ is designed for floor-based exercises

Kristian Krøyer from Danish studio Tons shares his latest creation; a fitness table designed for floor-based exercise where you follow instructions on video or smartphone apps. Besides solving a functional user need, the table also takes a stab at climate-aware manufacturing: 3D-printed in Denmark, sustainable products, no material waste, lean and local supply chain, minimal transport, no overproduction, no inventory, and no tooling cost.

multi-purpose and climate-friendly furniture piece

After completing the pilates, yoga, balance, or stretching exercises, Krøyer (see more here) says not to tuck the Tons Fitness Table away that quickly. ‘Insteaduse it as the perfect side tray, coffee table or lamp stand. Nobody does fitness 24/7. So, why not make fitness gear that has multiple purposes?’

Production wise, the furniture piece comprises solid and certified oak sticks topped with a 3D-printed plate made of Tons Bio Polymer. As mentioned earlier, every aspect in the design, sourcing and production has a profound intention to reduce climate footprint — resulting in a lightweight, strong, and biodegradable home object. ‘Like any other Tons product, the Fitness Table is all about low footprint and lots of value,’ concludes the designer.
