The Finest Playing cards to Ship This Season

[ad_1]

Welcome to the extended version of my weekly newsletter, House Call (and if you aren’t subscribed, what are you waiting for?). This is where I spend some time pondering a theme, answering a question, and helping you shop smarter—or at least find some new inspiration. Reach out if you ever need recommendations. I’m happy to search the internet for the most specific furnishings, decor, and knickknacks.

One of my favorite parts of December is getting holiday cards in the mail. I love receiving snail mail at any point, but it’s always a real treat to get a colorful, sweet, festive greeting this time of year. My grandparents worked at a greeting card company back in the day, so when I was growing up and spending Christmas at their house, they always had a fabulous collection of cards around the fireplace. My grandpa even went on to have his own card company, where he hand-painted beautiful snowy scenes.

Sadly, I can’t remember the last time I sent a holiday card myself, but this year I am determined to. Not only does it feel like there are so many great companies who can customize your dream card, but there are also numerous vintage cards you can easily buy online. Even if you don’t get your act together in time for a winter holiday, a New Year’s card is always a worthy substitute.
