The Finest Exercise Gear to Keep Optimistic

Welcome to the extended version of my weekly newsletter, House Call (and if you haven’t subscribed, what are you waiting for?). This is where I spend some time pondering a theme, answering a question, and helping you shop smarter—or at least find some new inspiration. Reach out if you ever need recommendations. I’m happy to search the Internet for the most specific furnishings, decor, and knickknacks.

One of my favorite lines from a movie comes from Legally Blonde: “Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don’t shoot their husbands.” A worthy alibi! But really, the point that sticks with me is that exercising will always put you on the better side of a mood. Whenever I need motivation, I think about that. While I love getting out of the house to break a sweat, the last few weeks have brought an onslaught of bad weather that makes it nearly impossible—from sleet to hail, high winds to heavy rain. Nothing is motivating me to want to be out and about, so ’tis the season for indoor workouts. From water rowing to jumping on a mini trampoline, there’s a lot out there for any kind of space and all levels of fitness. Even better when the piece of workout equipment looks like a nice design object.

So, today I present a slew of great gear to get those endorphins pumping and make you happy.
