But if you’re in dire need of a deep clean, we recommend checking out our roundup dedicated to the many Prime Day sales on vacuum cleaners running at Amazon, Target, Dyson, and more retailers as we speak.
When is Amazon Prime Day?
Technically, the two-day sales extravaganza started early this morning at 12 a.m. PST and will run through 11:59 p.m. PST on Wednesday, July 13. That said, the best early Prime Day deals have been rolling in for the past few days and more will be added through out the next 48 hours. More on that below!
How does Prime Day work?
A Prime membership is required to take advantage of the deals. Luckily, it doesn’t take much to become an Amazon Prime member. They offer a 30-day free trial for newbies, and after that it’s $14.99 per month to take advantage of their blazing fast shipping, Prime Video, and all the other benefits the mega retailer offers. And a note for book on tape nerds, an Audible membership is sold separately.
Now, on to the deals. Some last the full 48 hours, others are what they call “lightning deals” and don’t last more than a few hours.
We recommend a few things:
- Pace yourself. Like we said, it’s a marathon, not a sprint!
- Keep track of items you’ve got your eye on. You can set up deal alerts on Amazon by adding faves to your cart and clicking “save for later.”
- Cross-reference where you can find the lowest price (keep reading for more on that, too).
Are any other retailers offering discounts during Amazon Prime Day?
Amazon isn’t the only retailer hosting a sales event during the next few days. It‘s like Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Labor Day all rolled into one. So far, Target, Nordstrom, Sur La Table, Wayfair, Home Depot, Best Buy, West Elm, and Walmart have all announced their deal days. Last year we saw tons more brands joining the Prime Day party throughout the course of the event–and we were delighted to see smaller businesses like one of our bedding faves, Brooklinen, also joining in with 15% off sitewide.
