481 new luxury homes for downtown brooklyn

Rising along the crossroads of Cobble Hill’s brownstones and Downtown Brooklyn‘s towers, Studio Gang‘s rippling 11 Hoyt reaches completion. In celebration of the milestone, Tishman Speyer properties unveils new images of its luxury residential interiors, designed by Michaelis Boyd Associates, along with its sweeping ground level courtyard landscaped by hollander design. See designboom’s previous coverage here.

The tower rises 620 feet and 57 stories and is instantly recognized by its unique scalloped façade. The project introduces 481 new luxury homes to the neighborhood together with more than 55,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenities. Among its most distinctive features is an elevated private park for residents which covers nearly 27,000 square feet atop the two-story base surrounding the building.

With architecture by Studio Gang (see more here), the nearly completed 11 Hoyt is designed with 190 unique floor plans, including units ranging from studios to four-bedroom residences. The team at Michaelis Boyd (see more here) curates its interiors with two distinct finish palettes — heritage or classic. The light-filled units have ten-foot ceilings, and many open widely with occupiable window bays. Built-in seating allows residents to take in sweeping views of the Manhattan and Brooklyn skylines, Governor’s Island, and the Statue of Liberty beyond.

Kitchens feature custom Italian matte lacquer cabinets, honed Italian lava stone countertops and backsplashes, a premium suite of Bosch appliances, panelized and integrated refrigerators and dishwashers, and fully vented gas cooktops. Primary bathrooms feature bespoke vanities with custom frames and fixtures, grey Italian Bardiglio marble tub surrounds and marble floors with radiant-heating. Every home features Bosch washer and dryers, in addition to smart home technology including latch entry door hardware and Ecobee thermostats.

merging luxury and industrial

Rina Kukaj, director of Michaelis Boyd, New York explains the process of designing the 11 Hoyt interiors: ‘We are thrilled to continue our longstanding collaboration with Tishman Speyer, and have the opportunity to work alongside Studio Gang and Hollander Design on our first residential project in Brooklyn. Fusing luxury with a relaxed, industrial feel is a common thread in our interior projects — it gives a space an instant sense of place.

At 11 Hoyt we used an eclectic mix of tactile materials to create timeless, refined residences that also reference the neighborhood’s rich manufacturing history. The Heritage units feature warm tones, stained woods and dark metalwork, whilst the Classic style combines lighter neutrals with sophisticated stainless-steel fittings and pale oak for a fresh and refined feel.’
