Stay at the Ghostbusters Firehouse This Halloween
Attention, Ghostbusters fans: mark your calendars for Friday, October 21. That’s when booking will open for an exclusive three night stay at the Ghostbusters firehouse, courtesy of vacation rental platform Vacasa and Sony Pictures. The meticulously recreated space is located in Portland, Oregon, rather than the New York City building where the first film was shot.
Whoever is quickest to snag the reservation will ring in the arrival of Halloween in the festively decorated two-bedroom, three-story firehouse from October 28 through October 31, 2022. The lucky group of guests will enjoy thematic details throughout the 1900’s-built firehouse, including a full kitchen with a pantry stocked with Stay-Puft marshmallows and cheesy crackers like the ones snacked on in the movie.
The interior of the historic brick structure is decked out in such detail that one might believe the film’s heros just stepped out to vanquish some phantoms, if it weren’t for the Ecto-1, the logo-branded Cadillac that the Ghostbusters used as their preferred mode of spector-chasing transportation, parked in the firehouse bay. Once inside, guests will find the desk of Ghostbusters secretary Janine Melnitz, complete with a ringing phone. A closet stocked with the khaki flight suits worn by the Ghostbusters themselves and a plethora of high-tech ghost-catching equipment is begging to be rifled through, while a dark room offers aspiring Ghostbusters the opportunity to develop and analyze photos of Vigo, the 16th century sorcerer who terrorized New York City in Ghostbusters II. Needless to say, there’s plenty for Ghostbusters superfans to see and do during the three night stay.
Each night in the station costs $19.84, a price that was chosen to commemorate the year the first film in the blockbuster franchise was released, and includes 24-hour on call support from the Vacasa team. Booking opens on October 21 at 10 a.m. PT on Vacasa.com.
