Singer Ashanti Lists Neo-Colonial Home for Nearly $2.2 Million

Singer Ashanti, known best for her hits “Foolish” and “Always On Time,” has just placed her Old Westbury, New York, home on the market. According to Dirt.com, the “Happy” singer bought the six-bedroom, five-and-a-half-bathroom mansion in 2003 for $1.95 million. Built in 1999, the 5,345-square-foot home, sits hidden away on two acres of land at the end of a private cul-de-sac in New York State’s second wealthiest zip code.

A striking portico framed by well-manicured trees and shrubs adorns the home’s brick facade. Upon entrance, a dramatic foyer with double-height ceilings, extravagant chandelier, and a winding staircase greets visitors; columns and archways reveal brief glimpses into each of the first floor’s rooms. The kitchen, outfitted with wooden cabinets, a curved granite-topped island, and stainless steel appliances, faces a lush, beautifully maintained backyard with a paved walkway that leads to a pool and stone patio. Upstairs, the primary bedroom is covered with lovely parquet flooring and five large, double-sash windows provide ample views of the yard.

In a move similar to Taylor Swift and just in time for the 20th anniversary of her chart-topping self-titled album, Ashanti is re-recording and will re-release her debut album later this year. Back in April, the singer was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
