Reese Witherspoon Sells English Country-Style Los Angeles Home for $21.5 Million
Only two years and two months after purchasing their Brentwood home, and doing some major renovations to it, Reese Witherspoon and her husband, talent agent Jim Toth, are officially rid of their seven bedroom, 10 bathroom English Country-style estate. According to Mansion Global, the couple sold the home for $21.5 million, a sharp increase from the $15.895 million they paid in March of 2020, but still much less than the $25 million they listed it for in early March.
Located in the Brentwood area of western Los Angeles, the home sits on roughly three acres of land covered in mature trees that provide both privacy and a rural-feeling atmosphere. The structure feels like a departure from the ultra-modern world of L.A., with marble checkerboard flooring, an ornate staircase, and gorgeous stonework and tudor-style accents on the exterior. The aforementioned marble checkerboard flooring is one of the many improvements that Witherspoon and Toth oversaw during the renovations, which included in part a kitchen overhaul that made the environment more airy and refined, with gold handles on the cupboards and a classy wood-sided island amidst the white cabinetry.

With over 10,000 square feet, there was certainly a lot of room for the Big Little Lies star and the talent agent to work with, but since the home was already in suitable (if less stylish) shape when they purchased it, it’s likely that even with renovation costs and broker fees taken out, the sale marks a major profit for the couple, who share a nine-year-old son named Tennessee in addition to Witherspoon’s two children with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, 22-year-old Ava and 18-year-old Deacon.
