OMA’s temporary tiffany store in paris features a sapphire blue rotunda
OMA designs a boutique-cum-archive for Tiffany
A pop-up Tiffany store designed by OMA has opened in the heart of the 8th arrondissement in Paris, France. Located on Avenue Montaigne, the temporary space is not just a retail boutique but also an archival display, bringing together the jewelry brand’s latest pieces with items from its 185-year-old collection.
‘Tiffany & Co. has a rich history both in making jewelry and in product design. For us it was important to showcase that history,’ explains OMA Partner Ellen van Loon, who led the design alongside Project Architect Giulio Margheri. ‘More than an occasion to discover Tiffany’s latest collection, a visit to the store also becomes a journey across time.’

3 rooms with 3 different moods
The store unfolds as a sequence of rooms with different atmospheres. First is a sapphire blue rotunda that showcases highlights from Tiffany’s jewelry archive, exhibited physically and on digital screens. Next is an octagonal room to display the brand’s current collection. This space is adorned with golden walls, blush pink seating, and blue accents. Finally, an intimate room at the back hosts high jewelry appointments and Tiffany’s French Crown Jewels catalog from 1887.
OMA‘s interior design also includes a continuous gradient blue carpet, custom furniture pieces, and antique Tiffany-designed lamps that evoke Louis Comfort Tiffany’s designs from the early 1900s.
The pop-up shop is open to visitors until May 2023. Conceived as an adaptive design, the store’s ambiance will transform throughout the year to reflect the character of the collections it will host.
