Kate Upton and Justin Verlander Record Conventional Model Beverly Hills Dwelling for $11.7 Million

Kate Upton and Justin Verlander have listed their Beverly Hills home for $11.7 million.  The model and the professional baseball pitcher purchased the four bedroom, five bathroom space in 2016 for $5.25 million—less than half of what they’re now asking for the property. So what inspired the major increase in price? The couple, who share a three-year-old daughter named Genevieve, gave the 1976-built home a thoughtful makeover.

Said makeover included changing many minor details throughout the 5,521 square foot space and undertaking larger-scale projects, too. Simple changes included painting the wood vaulted ceilings to a simple white and gray and removing the primary bedroom’s fireplace mantel in favor of a simple black outline. The kitchen was perhaps the most dramatic redesign and now has a marble waterfall-edge island, a gray tiled backsplash, and an all new breakfast nook. The home also flaunts a picture perfect space for entertaining that includes a cozy media center, room for a pool table, a wet bar, and an impressive temperature-controlled wine closet. Elsewhere on the 1.55 acre land parcel is a brick pool, space for outdoor dining, and a manicured lawn.

One thing that’s stayed the same on the property is its championship tennis court, a feature that points to its previous resident, the now-retired professional tennis player Pete Sampras. Sampras is one of the many big names in the home’s history. He purchased the property from musician Kenny G and sold it to Mindy Willamson Peters, the ex-wife of Batman and A Star Is Born producer Jon Peters.
