Kate del Castillo Buys Updated Los Angeles Estate for $5.4 Million

Actor Kate del Castillo relocated from her native Mexico City to Los Angeles over two decades ago to advance her career in the entertainment industry. Years later now, with a resume full of starring roles in titles like La Reina del Sur, Telemundo’s popular crime drama, and the 2007 movie Under the Same Moon, one of the highest-grossing Spanish-language releases in U.S. history, it’s only fitting that the actor has snapped up an opulent estate to match her success; according to Dirt, del Castillo has purchased a $5.4 million transitional-style home in Encino, built in the 1980s. She previously bought a house in the Brentwood neighborhood for $2.3 million, which sold recently at $4.7 million.

Behind walls and gates, the newly reimagined five-bedroom, six-bathroom estate rests on nearly a half-acre of land that provides views of both the city and mountains. The exterior of the home is two-toned with a rich, dark roof. Large windows line the walls, providing natural sunlight throughout. The house features light hardwood floors, high wood-beam ceilings, white oak-paneled walls, and custom wainscoting. A formal fireside living room adds warmth to the space.

The actor’s new abode also hosts a great room, a family room, and large glass doors that open up to the wood deck. Her kitchen is equipped with soft-close cabinetry and drawers, Thermador appliances, and a marble-topped island. A curving staircase in the foyer leads to the second level, which opens up to the primary bedroom beneath a vaulted ceiling. It boasts a fireplace, private balcony, and walk-in closet. The porcelain-tiled bathroom comes complete with dual vanities, a soaking tub, and glass-encased shower.

The backyard is decked out with an infinity-edge pool and spa, surrounded by a wood sundeck, fire pit, kitchen, barbecue setup, and covered pavilion, while the front of the house features a circular motor court and an attached three-car garage.
