J.Crew and Liberty’s New Home Collection Is Here and It’s Perfect for Spring
Though there’s an abundance of blooms to enjoy IRL right now, J.Crew’s newly released home collection with famed retailer Liberty London might be our favorite remedy for floral fever. Ripe with modern interpretations of vintage flower motifs, the botanical-printed bedding and tableware assortment is an ode to the season and a natural extension of the brand’s easy-to-wear wardrobe essentials. “We really wanted to focus on the prints themselves because they are really the essence of this collection,” shares Olympia Gayot, the brand’s head of women’s design. Naturally, the retailers tapped long-time textile collaborators Liberty for a fresh take on classic bedding and entertaining essentials to outfit the home. “There’s so much history and heritage in Liberty as a brand, and that’s always what’s been so inspiring to us,” Olympia explains. “The prints are so gorgeous, thoughtful, and eclectic, and we know our customer loves Liberty.”
According to the designer, intentionally simple bedding, sleepwear, and table linen designs allow the artistry and craftsmanship behind the prints—involving archive trips to Liberty’s London headquarters and hours of hand-drawing—to shine through. “For us, it was about having a minimal approach to the design aesthetic—keeping it very refined, tailored, and sophisticated, and letting the prints speak for themselves.”
Eagle-eyed shoppers will notice a cohesion between J. Crew’s spring wardrobe collection and this homeware line in common color themes ranging from poppy red and bright pinks to bright green and neutral blues—hues also found in the energetic Liberty prints. “I really love that we’re able to offer an extension of what our customer knows and loves from us,” Olympia says of the synergetic connection. “They really do get that whole lifestyle.”
