Issa Rae Curates a South Los Angeles Airbnb Keep for Tremendous Bowl Weekend

This Super Bowl Sunday is about to be especially exciting for the two lucky guests who get to enjoy an Airbnb hosted by Insecure creator Issa Rae. Regardless of whether the guests will be rooting for the L.A. Rams or the Cincinnati Bengals, they’ll be sure to relish the many wonders of South L.A. during their time at the gorgeously decorated mid century home that costs just $112 for the two night stay.

At check-in, guests will be welcomed to Rae’s lifelong neighborhood via a chat with the multi-hyphenate herself, after which they’ll have a chance to explore their vacay pad. The space has plenty to peruse, including a vast array of artwork by local Black artists (Maya Iman, Vakseen, and Domonique Brown, to name a few), a pool, and a semicircle white couch that resembles Rae’s own.

A provided guidebook that lists Rae’s favorite spots in the area—Eso Won Books, My 2 Cents, and Supervsn Studios are among the many—will help guests navigate the area and see exactly why Rae admires her neighborhood so much. A catered game day dinner provided by local restaurant Worldwide Tacos ensures that the Super Bowl will be enjoyed whether or not the home team wins. Since Insecure was largely shot in South L.A., visitors will be sure to spy a few familiar places on their trip.

“As a proud South L.A. native, I’m excited to host guests in my neighborhood, where I am continually inspired by the community and culture,” Issa said about the decision to become an Airbnb Host as football’s biggest game takes place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood. “As all eyes are on the city of Los Angeles this month, I’m celebrating the area that continues to influence my storytelling and showing Airbnb guests firsthand all the things that make Black L.A. so special.”
