Get Out the Vote: Have Your Say in the World’s Best Architecture!

One of the most exciting architectural events of the year is upon us once again: The 2022 A+Awards Public Vote is now open!

Architizer was founded on the premise that architecture is for everyone, and the A+Awards perfectly encapsulate this mission to break architecture out of its echo chamber. This year’s 10th Anniversary Edition is dedicated to “celebrating a decade of inspirational design”, honoring firms that have been at the forefront of design innovation over the past 10 years, and inviting submissions that envisage a better future for the next decade and beyond. One of the reasons for the A+Awards program’s success is the democratic nature of the voting process — and that’s where you come in.

We invite you to cast your ballots for the projects that you think deserve recognition in the Architizer A+Awards, the largest awards program for architects and designers. You have from May 17th to May 27th, 2022 to make sure your voice heard, so don’t hesitate — hit the button below to get started:

Clockwise, from left: Antares by Studio Odile Decq, 2022 Finalist in Multi Unit Housing – High Rise (16+ Floors); Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen by MVRDV, 2022 Finalist in Gallery & Exhibition Spaces; Water Cabin by Olson Kundig, 2022 Finalist in Private House (S 1000-2000 sq ft).

This year’s voting process is no different. Our reputable judges, who sit on a 250+ member jury academy comprised of a sought-after segment of design-savvy professionals, have nominated five finalists within each award category. These finalists are now visible online, and we encourage design practitioners and enthusiasts from around the globe to vote for your favorites over a ten-day period. The more votes received for each category, the closer we can get to a true representation of what exceptional architecture looks like today.

While the Pritzker Prize jury is a select group of stellar architects and well-known critics who gather together to choose a single recipient, the A+Awards celebrates the opinions of a public that lives, works and plays within architecture every single day. Every vote is equal, so as you select your favorite project from the shortlist, your voice is heard as loudly as Alejandro Aravena, Barry Bergdoll and Wang Shu’s. After all, you don’t need to be a Pritzker juror to be inspired by great design and the people behind it.

Clockwise, from top left: STUDIOS 90 by Sanjay Puri Architects, 2022 Finalist in Architecture +Color; Norfolk Burleigh Heads by Koichi Takada Architects, 2022 Finalist in Multi Unit Housing – Mid Rise (5-15 Floors); Striatus 3D Printed Bridge by Zaha Hadid Architects, 2022 Finalist in Architecture +Concrete.

Not only is the voting period a way for you to see tons of amazing architecture, but you actually have a say in which architects will take home the prestigious awards! Cast your votes using our free and easy-to-use online ballot, and make sure to run through every category to make your voice heard across the board. Don’t forget to tell your fellow architecture fans to vote too — or better yet, rally your non-architect friends and give them a crash course in what it’s all about!

Remember: Every vote counts. We’re asking you to view these projects with fresh eyes and an open mind. It doesn’t matter who designed them or where they’re located. Ask yourself: Does this project make the world a better place? Does it inspire me? Is it truly innovative? If so, vote for it and celebrate the most incredible projects created by talented architects around the globe.

Clockwise, from left: Tour de Montréal by Provencher_Roy, 2022 Finalist in Architecture +Adaptive Reuse; Qaamat Pavilion in Greenland by Konstantin Arkitekter, 2022 Finalist in Pavilions; Floating Cornice on the Brook by line+, 2022 Finalist in Architecture +Landscape.

At this crucial time, Architizer’s A+Awards program provides a vital opportunity to recognize the creative leaders on the front lines of architecture’s evolution. The buildings we award prizes are upheld as exemplary designs; the merit is not just about celebrating the people and firms behind the excellence, but also about selecting leaders that model the direction that the profession is taking. It is about building new paths towards more sustainable and equitable built environments.

With this in mind, we’re asking you to take back architecture. Vote now and celebrate the most amazing projects on the planet — together with those that worked so hard to bring them to reality:
