Gaggenau’s experiential culinary installation takes over villa necchi campiglio
Gaggenau at Milan Design Week 2022
During Milan Design Week 2022, Gaggenau welcomes architects, designers and kitchen professionals into an interactive culinary experience, called A Statement of Form. An installation as if an exposed kitchen pavilion finds its home inside the glass interior of Villa Necchi Campiglio, as visitors walk through, experience culinary excellence, and observe design innovation.
Welcome in onsite at Villa Necchi Campiglio, Villa Mozart 12 or online from 7-11 June, 2022 – here.
With a history that dates back to 1683, Gaggenau has always been at the forefront for domestic culinary experiences. The luxury brand manufacturers professional-grade appliances for homes, enhancing the cooking ability for enthusiasts located all over the world. Gaggenau and their products, though, are proudly ‘Made in Germany’ as they combine the latest innovation with clear design and high-quality functionality. 2022 marks the first time the company has exhibited beyond the Salone del Mobile fair at EuroCucina during Milan Design Week.
Gaggenau’s A Statement of Form installation
Gaggenau’s A Statement of Form consists of an exposed installation spanning 360 sq feet in total. It extends within the glass pavilion at Villa Necchi Campiglio, welcoming visitors to walk through to experience culinary delights. The structure unites key qualities of the luxury German brand, mixing form and function with the highest grade appliances in-situ. Everything that goes into creating and complementing their products are laid bare and deconstructed for all to appreciate: precision from raw ingredients to cuisine, heritage and craftsmanship through to progressive innovation, the importance of materiality, and the home as the entertaining space of the future.
With culinary excellence at its core, the installation not only creates a place for architects, designers and kitchen professionals to engage with the brand and meet their in-house design team and collaborators, but also for guests to enjoy some much needed downtime during Milan Design Week 2022. Visitors can experience different sections that focus on the luxury German brand’s key specialist areas. A highlight of the culinary experience brings haute cuisine to life within the German three Michelin star ‘Restaurant Überfahrt’ with chef and long-time collaborator Christian Jürgens.
Creative culinary conversations
Whilst at the Villa, Gaggenau hosts a series of talks and exclusive events that take place in collaboration with a host of architectural, design and culinary luminaries. This includes project partners such as German architects 1zu33, Italian ceramic manufacturers Salvatori and ceramic tiles producer Kaufmann Keramik. Gaggenau accolade laureates also feature, such as Spanish designer Xavier Mañosa; winemaker Elías López Montero of Verum Wines; and Azienda Agricola Bettella, Italian organic pork farmers and suppliers of Salumi Bettella. The creative conversation is a space for networking, to build connections and share ideas for the future of culinary experiences.
‘This week is the culmination of hard work from many of our trusted partners and people we respect and admire to help us showcase the best of Gaggenau in Milan. We hope to share the ‘A Statement of Form’ experience with as many people around the world via our virtual events and to welcome visitors from Fuorisalone, Salone del Mobile, and EuroCucina to our immersive, engaging design space,’ concludes Dr Peter Goetz, Managing Director of Gaggenau.
