mandala lab in bilbao, spain
ENORME studio has teamed up with EXTUDIO to design the Mandala Lab, an interactive installation in Bilbao, Spain, that invites curiosity about our emotions. Drawing from powerful Buddhist principles, the structure features five stimulating, entertaining experiences —including films, scents, sculptures, and specially chosen percussion instruments— leading visitors on an inner journey centered on self- and other-awareness. The new installation, which is situated in Doa Casilda Park and is accessible to the public from 1 to 17 June 2022, is modeled after the Mandala Lab display at the Rubin Museum in New York City.

These five distressing emotions —known in Buddhism as kleshas— blur our perception of reality. Through the ongoing exploration of these emotions, some Buddhist practitioners develop the wisdom and ability that help them change their perspective of the world, themselves, and others.
The Mandala Lab installation by ENORME studio (see more here) and EXTUDIO (see more here) invites visitors on an experiential journey, encouraging them to see, smell, touch, and breathe their way through the space as a way to inspire connection, empathy, and learning.
