Director Lee Daniels Lists Coldwater Canyon Home for $7.2 Million
Oscar-nominated film and TV director, producer, and writer Lee Daniels has listed his Coldwater Canyon home for $7.2 million. Daniels and his longtime partner and stylist Jahil Fisher purchased the boxy modern home back in July 2018. The pad was originally built in the early 1950s and underwent a major redesign in 2017 before the couple moved in. The producer worked with his friend, interior designer Roxy Sowlaty to help customize the home to his liking. They furnished the home with replicas of pieces in his Manhattan apartment like a piano and artwork by Obama portraitist Kehinde Wiley.
The Beverly Hills-adjacent pad is tucked away down a wide gated driveaway, surrounded by greenery, on property spanning almost an acre. The exterior is finished with striking metal siding and an attached two-car garage. Inside, there are four bedrooms and five baths spread. Gorgeous shades of charcoal, white, and ebony complement the chic decor and wood-paneled walls, ceilings, and large expanses of glass.
A stunning floating steel and wood staircase ascends to the main living areas. From there, the home features a fireside living room, a TV room, and an office space. The dining area connects to a gourmet kitchen that is finished with black granite countertops and top-tier appliances.
A 1,000-square-foot retreat of a primary suite can be found upstairs. The room includes an impressive two-way fireplace, private balcony overlooking canyon and treetop views, and a walk-in closet and dressing room. Equipped with rain-sensor skylights, a soaking tub and glass-encased shower centered right in the middle, the bathroom is a luxurious oasis.
Outside you’ll find an upper-level yoga deck, plus a deck below featuring several lounging areas perfect for entertaining and relaxing. There is also a small lap pool and a detached library.
The listing is held by David Parnes and James Harris of The Agency.
