‘the greek bar jacket’ takes viewers on a journey across greece and inside the workshops of all the local artisans that worked with maria grazia chiuri on the collection. the film steps into the embroidery atelier of aristides tzonevrakis, who gave the fashion house’s iconic ‘bar’ jacket a grecian update, as well as the studio of artist christiana soulou, who developed seven monochromatic mythological figures that were then weaved into colored fil coupé fabrics. in the town of soufli, it visits the silk line factory, run by kostas mouhtaridis and dimitra kolotoura, who came up with innovative new reimaginings of iconic house motifs, namely a lustrous houndstooth in silk and golden yarns and a transparent toile de jouy. finally, in the port of piraeus in athens, it captures the work of atelier tsalavoutas, who reinterpreted the iconic fisherman’s cap for the dior cruise 2022 show by crowning it with a braid made by NE.M.A., an atelier that is dedicated to transmitting traditional passementerie techniques. learn more about the cruise 2022 collaborations here, and stay tuned to watch ‘the greek bar jacket’ in full on thursday, january 13, 2022, on dior’s youtube channel.
