Brooke Shields Sells Chalet-Type Pacific Palisades Property For $7.4 Million

In the battle between Los Angeles and New York, Brooke Shields is now firmly on the latter party’s side. Just a few weeks shy of the 25th anniversary of her Pacific Palisades home purchase, Shields has sold the west L.A. property for $7.4 million, according to Dirt. The actress and model, along with her screenwriter husband Chris Henchy, has been renting the 5,345 square foot home out since at least 2015, running tenants around $25,000 a month.

The family prefers to spend time at their townhouse in New York’s Greenwich Village which they purchased in 2008 for $5.5 million. “I promised myself I would give my girls the kind of richly textured urban childhood that comes with sinking roots into a real New York neighborhood,” she told AD during a tour of the David Flint Wood-designed home in 2017. “I wanted to create for them, and us, an experience of home with a layered and resonant personal history.”

The Pacific Palisades chalet-style home has plenty to offer for those who prefer the West Coast lifestyle. Exposed beams, sloped roofs, and stone fireplaces dotted throughout the five bedroom, five and a half bathroom space create a distinctly homey environment that’s far from the untouchable modern cool of many luxurious L.A. properties. Its hillside perch offers gorgeous views from the wrap around patio on the main level and the balconies upstairs. Further down on the property, and accessible by a brick-paved walkway, is a kidney shaped pool surrounded by mature trees and stones that make the space feel pleasantly secluded.
