An NYC Penthouse As soon as Owned by Britney Spears, Cher, and Russell Simmons Is For Sale

[ad_1]

It’s a status symbol enough to buy a property where one celebrity used to live, but what about multiple? Britney Spears, Cher, and Russell Simmons are all previous owners of one New York City penthouse (Keith Richards also reportedly lived there), and the NoHo apartment just hit the market for $6.955 million.

Cher was the first owner and purchased the penthouse sometime in the 1980s, according to Compass, the real estate company that has the property listing.  She sold it to Def Jam Recordings co-founder Simmons in 1990 for $1.6 million. Spears owned the pad for four years, and during her tenure the “Toxic” singer combined two units, apartments 1109 and 1110, to account for its current layout. Many outlets have reported that Richards also lived in the penthouse at some point, but AD was unable to confirm when or for how long the Rolling Stones frontman may have owned the place.

Spanning 3,785 square feet over four levels, the home has four bedrooms, four-and-a-half bathrooms, and a distinct townhouse feel. Owners can enter on any level through a private elevator and are greeted with north-facing views of the city and surrounding neighborhood. The main level features 12-foot ceilings and a spacious living and dining room with a wood-burning fireplace. Cooks will love the huge chef’s kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances, while anyone will appreciate the dedicated laundry room with a slop sink.

A 400 square foot terrace is the standout of the top level, but the primary suite is a highlight too, with its wood-burning fireplace, abundance of closet space, and wet bar. Adding to the musical allure, the property is located in the historic 12-story Silk Building, where the original Tower Records store once occupied the main floor.
