swept off your feet yet? a dustpan and a broom by studio irvine enrich the MUJI‘s cleaning system as the everyday objects modernize the daily chore. starting from the functionality of an everyday gesture to contain and pick up, the shape was born spontaneously generating a product with a very precise aesthetic trait.

the 2022 product enriches muji’s cleaning system
milan-based architectural and design studio irvine specializes in product design, art direction and raw spaces focusing the research on the pure matter. run by marialaura rossiello irvine, the practice creates a fun twist on a universal object. the dustpan & broom for MUJI begun with a global analysis about how a cleaning tool is used in different cultures: spacious or smaller places and out or indoors. although compact, the pair is undoubtedly versatile.
‘simplicity, essentiality and being part of an already functional system: these are the keywords that led me in the design of our last project for MUJI’, says designer marialaura rossiello irvine.
