A few of the Dreamiest Ski Chalets on the Actual Property Market Proper Now

In the world of real estate, no property style evokes winter more than a ski chalet. Traditionally built using wood and stone, luxury chalets have evolved to include modern design staples such as glass and metals, says Julian Walker, the owner of London–based real estate site SkiingProperty.com. “The high-end properties today still have wood but are far more contemporary and emphasize design,” he says.

Another change from the past, according to Walker, is location. “They used to be predominantly in the French and Swiss Alps, but now you can find chalets in almost any ski destination around the world,” he says.

From a property situated in an Aspen development with endless amenities to one in Nagano, Japan, where the chairlift to the slopes is a quick walk away, we’ve rounded up six upscale chalets currently for sale.

Let the winter games begin.
