A dystopian future with exclusive tapware by AXOR | News | Architonic

Auer’s design, with mirrors framed by neon lights, is reminiscent of the narrow streets of the metropolis, lined with flashing advertising signs and populated by throngs of people – multi-layered, shady, mildly dystopian yet without any trace of gloom. An important part of the picture involves the AXOR Edge mixer series by Jean-Marie Massaud, which features a prismatic structure milled in a high-precision diamond cut. As a basin mixer and as a free-standing bath mixer, they are finished in Polished Gold Optic and form a striking contrast to the surrounding materials that include mirrored stainless steel and light and dark travertine – a nod to the aesthetics of the 1980s. ‘In Hong Kong,’ Auer explains, ‘there are the crowds on the streets, and then as you move upwards, it becomes more futuristic. So I combine old antique pieces with very modern textures.’ Finally, the AXOR ShowerHeaven and the AXOR Edge thermostat module combine to provide ultra-modern functionality in the shower area.
