Scandinavian rug company Nordic Knots has collaborated with New York City-based lifestyle brand ARJE to intertwine their diverse cultures into an ethereal digital home. Through a junction of minimalist touches and vibrant Mediterranean warmth, both brands explore the meaning of finding a home.

Designed by Paris-based 3D artist Nicholas Préaud, ‘ARJÉ x Nordic Knots’ emerges as a fictional home steeped in gentle, dream-like aesthetics. ‘The concept of home is a deeply significant one for practically every human being. a home where minimalist north meets Mediterranean warmth

Created to showcase the collaboration of the two interior brands, the digital home appears as a sensitive blending of their contrasting creative worlds. the result sees a harmonic coexistence of raw and vivid materials of southern Spain with the sharp contemporary coolness of the Nordics. A collection of rugs designed by ARJÉ (see more here) and brought to life by Nordic Knots (here) come to complete this dreamy atmosphere. Reflecting different aspects of their search for a home, ‘Face’ is a fuzzy design in a rich, sunny shade of warm ochre, while ‘Family’ appears as a soft cut-pile design in antique white.

The imagined space takes shape in 3D renderings created by the artist Nicholas Préauds in communication with the brands. The aerial interior envisions a dreamscape world that merges the languages of the two brands, just like the rug designs informed by the aforementioned opposing aesthetics. In this dreamed-up utopia, the sleek Scandinavian minimalism exists in the architecture and the subtle color palette, whilst the rustic richness of the Mediterranean is echoed in the choice of materials, meticulous details, and accessories. Crossing different seasons and locations, the house embraces an olive tree at its core, all the while reflecting the serenity of the Swedish archipelago. with this project, ARJÉ and Nordic Knots see their collection come to life in a calming breezy place called home.
