Sting
Sting has been in the winery business since 1999, when he purchased a sprawling 865-acre estate in Tuscany. Although he told the Italian magazine Sette that, at the time, the property was “in ruins,” the previous owner managed to sell him on its potential. Today, it’s known as Il Palagio, which currently produces about 150,000 bottles of wine a year, including a sparkling, a white, a rosé, and three reds, according to Decanter. The enchanting Tuscan villa can be booked for private events, and Sting and his wife Trudie Styler have opened a farm shop selling fresh vegetables and fruits grown on the estate.
Fergie
For former Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie, wine is a family affair: She and her father, Pat Ferguson, opened Ferguson Crest in 2006. Set overlooking California’s Santa Ynez Valley, the six-acre estate winery produces an assortment of varietals, from a crisp Viognier to a spicy Syrah. A lifelong horticulturist, one day Ferguson decided to focus on growing grapes and making wine and hasn’t looked back, according to his daughter, who discussed their winemaking business with the California Wine Club. Though the winery doesn’t appear to be open to the public, it does have a club: Members receive priority access to its handcrafted, small-production, and limited-edition autographed bottles of wines.
